Karsten Hank, Board Member

Karsten Hank is Professor of Sociology at the University of Cologne and Research Fellow at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin. He studied Social Sciences at Ruhr-University Bochum, was a doctoral student at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, and Head of the Research Unit "Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe" at the Mannheim Research Institute for the Economics of Ageing. Hank was a Visiting Professor at King's College London and is an International Research Fellow at VU Amsterdam. He is Co-PI of the German Family Panel (pairfam) and Co-Editor of the Kölner Zeitschrift für Soziologie und Sozialpsychologie. His research on aging, families and health has been published in such journals such as Demography, European Sociological Review, Journal of Gerontology: Social Sciences, Journal of Marriage and Family, Science & Medicine.
